Thank You!
To all participants of the CEI summer conference in Aalborg. Hope you have all had a nice summer holiday and are now back in schools, work etc. with your minds focused on new environmental pro-jects. We think that we had a wonderful conference week here, and we want to thank you all for your contributions - your good projects, your entertainments and your kind interest and good spirit all the week. Thank you very much and please bring our thanks on to your students. It was a pleasure to meet them and experience their interest in the conference, in meeting other young people and in being together. Thanks also to all you that didn’t come to the conference but both before and afterwards have shown great interest in the event. It’s so good to get your comments – to feel your interest and to learn about all the good work you are doing all around the world. We are – among other things – trying to gather all the different elements from the conference week, and we want to have it all on the website. If you did not send your project resume before the conference – please do it now. If you have photoes you could send, we will put them on the web site. Also we are very interested in all comments you may want to give – good notes that you have – etc. Please mail us that as soon as you can. We are vey much looking forward to receive your different contributions. The best regards to all of you.

VERY IMPORTANT!!
For all delegates that are coming to the conference – look carefully. Adress of the base: Aalborg Kaserner Gammel Hoevej 34 9400 Noerresundby Denmark Contact telephone number from Sunday the 6.th: 0045 20 88 84 96 Below is a list to help you remember the necessary things for the conference: 1. Tell us the time for arriving and departure from Aalborg. We still need to be informed from many of you and we can’t pick you up if we don’t know when you are coming. 2. Send summary of project – if you haven’t done it already. For project presentation if you have power points and the like – bring usb-sticks or cd’s. 3. All in dormitory - remember a padlock for your wardrobe – must be able to go through a hole with the size of a normal pencil 4. If you need hairdryers and other electrical things – you may need to bring an adapter( we have 220V). 5. Bring shoes that are good for walking and clothes also for rain and colder weather. 6. Take care of your travel insurance – make sure that you have permission from parents. 7. Bring a flag for the opening ceremony (about 0,8 - 1 meter – or just what you have)– afterwards you can give it to “Threads of Equality” to set on the quilt. 8. Bring posters of your country( your region) and your project. 9. Prepare short entertainment for Culture Evening. 10. Bring Danish currency if you want to buy snacks or drinks on the base. ( There is an ATM near the base – 2 kilometer). 11. Bring good spirit to contribute to a fantastic conference. We’re so much looking forward to see you all in Aalborg. Wish you all a safe journey. Request for flags for humanGrace Threads of Equality quilt project
Caretakers of the Environment International is proud to welcome the humanGrace foundation and the Treads Of Equality global quilting project to the 2008 Conference. This touring program invites all to contribute to the creation of several solid color quilts comprised of pieces of fabric originating from deconstructed flags of the world. The resulting monochromatic quilted banners will be exhibited around the world as symbols of global unity, harmony and tolerance. We request each attending delegation provide a flag that would be presented to the humanGrace representatives as part of our 2008 Opening Ceremonies. Throughout the week of the conference, attendees will be invited to participate in the deconstruction process and quilting program. The resulting fabric pieces will be shown as part of the conference closing events.

Important information about insurance and parental consent
Notice the following: It is each delegations’ responsibility to have their own insurance – both for the travel and the stay in Denmark. Insurance - Buy travel insurance. This should include insurance for medical expenses. - Make sure to bring the relevant documentary proof of your insurance. - You may wish to ask someone else in your team (say your teacher-in-charge) to keep a copy of your insurance policy number. In addition to the above make sure that you have en insurance that will cover injuries/loss of properties/loss of lives. Secure parental consent - We require all participants below 18 years old to have full consent from their parents/guardians/wards for their participation in this conference and all the activities and events therein, and for the teacher-in-charge to be the temporary guardian of these participants during the period away from home. - We expect this requirement, together with whatever legal and/or procedural details, to be met by the school/organization which is putting together its team of delegates prior to the team's departure from home.

Important News.
To all that are coming to the conference - please note this carefully. For the conference we want you to bring: 1. We want you to bring posters - about your country - your project - your environment, so that there is something from each country. 2. All persons in dorms should bring a padlock( must be able to go through holes at the size of a pencil) for their wardrobe. 3. For culture evening Thursday please prepare some short entertainment - (5 minutes for each group) - typical for your country - remember national suits etc. 4.If you want to buy anything at the base ( snacks, coffee, bear, soft drinks ) you'll have to use Danish money. At the base you can't use creditcards!! It's easier to pay all other places too, if you have Danish currency. So remember to change.

We need to know for each delegation when you arrive at Aalborg the 6th. of July– airport or railway station. 2. We need to know when you are going to leave the base – and from where. 3. We have sport activies Sunday 6th. in the afternoon from 15.00 – 18.00. How many wants to participate in those activities? 4. We want a summary of your prepared project. Refunding of money
Due to the circumstances, that we have to pay for the accommodation at Aalborg Kaserner in advance it will not be possible to get any money back after the 1st of June – even if some changes occur in your group. Sorry!

Please remember the deadline 10th. of May is coming very soon, and you need to pay now to be fully registrated. ´ There are still delegations that haven't paid the conference fees. You must write us if you are still in the process of getting visas.

CEI 2008 - regarding your registrations
Thank you very much - all you 390 registrated delegates - that you want to come to this 22nd Caretaker Summer Conference in Denmark. We know that there have been different troubles for some delegations concerning the payments. Therefore we have decided that you can pay till the 10th of May. This date will be final!! If you are still in the process of getting visa, you must tell us - send us a mail where you declare how far you are in that process. If any delegation still need an invitationletter, you must contact us ASAP! Some delegations haven't told us their project title. We'll need that title to the final date also. We already registrated payments from many delegations and they will get a receipt in nearest future. Some delegations though may have difficulties to get visa to come to Denmark. Besides the 390 registrated we have the Danish delegations, the Danish Young Guide Team, young journalists etc. Here we are working hard to make a good conference. Please be patient, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need any information. We try to respond as soon as possible.

We are very sorry. Some of you have had troubles paying the conference fees. The BIC/swift code has been wrong. The right swift code is DABADKKK BIC of benificiary bank = Swift code: DABADKKK Name of beneficiary of the account 3201-3402191341 is Aalborg Ungdomsskole, Godthåbsgade 8, 9400 Nørresundby Sorry, but we can't accept checks or visa cards. You must get your bank to transfer the money.

Please check your registration!!
Some registrations are incomplete. Deadline is comming up very soon - 15th of April 2008. Some of you have made an uncomplete registration. It's necessary that you complete all 3 steps if you wish to participate in the conference. 1. We need all information about all delegates. 2. If participants have any special requirements you have to write it in the "Remark Field". We need to know: special diet, diabetics, vegetarians, disability, ect. 3. You need to click the comfirm button at step 3. 4. It's necessary for you to pay the conference fee in order to be fully registrated! Looking foreward to see you all in Aalborg, Denmark.

Concerning the stay at the base
You can arrive at the base during the day or evening of Sunday the 6th of July. During Sunday we have light meals. The conference will end after breakfast Saturday the 12th of July. If you need to, you can keep your room one or two nights more so you leave Monday the 14th no later than 10 o’clock in the morning. If you are planning to use this possibility, you’ll have to arrange for food, transport etc. yourself.

Some delegations/countries may need a letter of invitation. If you need one, please contact us about that. To make the letter, we need to know: - Your name – title - Your school/organization - Your address - Project title - Number of persons that you want to bring You have to send/bring the invitation letter with your apply for visa to the Danish Embassy in your country – or the nearest official Danish Representation. ( Find out on the webpage under visa requirements). If you need the letter sent to you by postal mail, you have to let us know.
